Official Rules

MIMIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
You must be a legal U.S. citizen or a U.S. resident, on all audition dates. You must also be eligible to work in the United States.

You are ineligible if, as of the date of your audition, you have any type of contract for talent representation (for example, a talent agent or manager), a music recording contract, an acting contract, a merchandising agreement, or any other contractual arrangement that would prohibit you from entering into a management contract, recording contract, talent contract, acting contract, acting contract and/or merchandising contract.

Employees, shareholders, officers directors, agents, representatives, and their immediate family members and those living in the same household of KXLY Radio Group, FOX Broadcasting Company, News America, Inc., FOX Interactive Media, Inc., FremantleMedia North America, Inc., The Search for the Next Great American Band Productions, Inc., 19 TV Ltd., 19 Merchandising Ltd., CKX, Inc., their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each, FBC, News America, Inc. and the show studio/producer(s) as released parties, production personnel for the television program, participating television stations, advertising agencies, corporate sponsors or any person or entity connected with the production, administration or judging of the auditions, or any of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents or representatives are not eligible.

THE PROCESS
We need a video of your band performing one of your songs. The video can be a really slick music video, or just a still shot of your band in your garage. Remember, it's the audio that's the most important, so make sure it sounds good! You can mail it to us (our address is below) or log on to www.fox28spokane.com for other options. If you mail us the video, we'll need it on MiniDV, VHS, DVD or as a file on CD, DVD, or a thumb drive (and, as is often the case in these situation, we won't be able to return your tape/disc/thumb drive). Make sure that the video will reach us (actually reach us, not just postmarked) no later than 5pm on the 23rd (note that the video must be sent to Spokane, so plan ahead!). When submitting your video please include the name of your band, the name of your song, the names and ages of each band member, as well as which instruments you play. Your video has to be in our office by 5pm on 22 July 2007.

No matter whether you mail or upload your video, you'll need to fill out some paperwork and mail it to us. Visit http://www.americanidol.com/news/view/?pid=835 and click on the link labeled, "print the application form". Fill it out and send it in along with your video (we will need a hard copy of your video regardless of how you chose to sumit). This form must be filled out by each member of your band. You band must actually play instruments. A capella bands are not eligible for this contest.

If you win, you are only guaranteed one audition in front of The Search for the Next Great American Band judges. You will be judged under the criteria listed in the official The Search for the Next Great American Band rules and will not receive preferential treatment for callbacks. Decisions for callbacks are made solely by the judges.

ALL FORMS MUST BE FILLED OUT COMPLETELY AND TRUTHFULLY. IF YOU FAIL TO COMPLETE ANY FORM, GIVE ANY FALSE INFORMATION, OR FAIL TO REVEAL ANY PERTINENT INFORMATION, YOU MAY BE DISQUALIFIED FROM THE AUDITION PROCESS.

GUARANTEED AUDITION
There is only one (1) guaranteed audition for one (1) winner/band per affiliate in front of The Search for the Next Great American Band judges, provided said winner/band meets all eligibility requirements, complies with all audition rules and completes all required paperwork. Guaranteed Audition includes ground transportation, airfare and hotel accommodations for one winner/band per affiliate. Local winner/band must be determined solely by a talent-based competition, and must be eligible to audition under the published The Search for the Next Great American Band rules.

Disqualifications: We reserve the right to disqualify and/or exclude, in our sole and absolute discretion, any individual from any of the auditions for any reason or for no reason at all, including without information, violation of any portion of these rules, or tampering with the entry process or the audition process. We also reserve the right to change the rules and procedures at any time.

General Conditions: By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the producers, the voting audience, and the panel of judges, which shall be final and binding. Your presence at the audition, and the presence of your friends, family members, and anyone else accompanying you, constitutes your and their consent and agreement to the recording and use of your and their performance, appearance, name, voice, singing voice, likeness and any musical or sound effects produced by you and/or them for use in connection with any television program, motion picture or Internet for all purposes(including advertising, marketing, promotion, merchandising and the exploitation of any and all ancillary and subsidiary rights), as the same may be edited, in all media now know or hereafter created, throughout the universe, in perpetuity for no compensation, unless otherwise required by law. If you and/or your friends, family members or anyone else accompanying you to the audition, do not wish to be photographed, or do not agree to these terms, PLEASE DO NOT AUDITION AND STAY OUT OF THE CAMERA RANGE. Your and/or their failure to do so will be conclusively deemed to be a waiver of any and all claims for invasion of privacy, defamation, etc. All federal, state and local laws apply. Audition dates and locations are subject to change. KXLY Radio Group, FOX Broadcasting Company, News America, Inc., FOX Interactive Media, Inc., FremantleMedia North America, Inc., The Search for the Next Great American Band Productions, Inc., 19 TV Ltd., 19 Merchandising Ltd., CKX, Inc., their parent, subsidiary, affiliated and related entities, and the officers, directors, employees, licensees and assignees of each, FBC, News America, Inc. and the show studio/producer(s) as released parties, production personnel for the television program, participating television stations, advertising agencies, corporate sponsors or any person or entity connected with the production, administration or judging of the auditions, or any of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents or representatives shall not be liable for: (i) any failure of transportation, bad directions, or inability for any reason to appear at an audition site or audition or appear before the judging panels; (ii) any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by traveling to or from the audition venues, being present at the audition venues, participating in the auditioning process or being selected to or disqualified from continuing in the auditioning process and/or the show; or (iii)any printing, typographical or technological errors in any materials associated with the auditioning process. NO WEAPONS, ALCOHOL OR NON-PRESCRIPTION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES WILL BE PERMITTED AY ANY AUDITION OR DURING THE COMPETITION.

Participants under the age of 18 years of age will be required to submit appropriate paperwork and be accompanied by a parent; or a legal aged band member may serve as guardian and any other additional parent or guardian would have to pay for their own travel and accommodations.

In the event that production of The Search for the Next Great American Band is cancelled or postponed, the related portion of the prizing may be cancelled without submission or compensation therefore.

For names of winners, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope after 07/30/2007 to: KAYU FOX 28, 4600 S. Regal St., Spokane, WA 99223. The names of the winners will be posted on the KAYU FOX 28 website at www.fox28spokane.com on or about August 1st, 2007.
